The Assam Public Service Commission
invites application from Indian Citizens, suitable and eligible
candidates for filling up the under mentioned following posts under
Assam Government in the scale of pay as indicated below and carrying
usual allowances as admissible under rules of the Govt. of Assam. The Assam Public Service Commission came into existence on Ist April, 1937 in accordance with the provision of the Govt. of India Act, 1935.

• Principal in B.B.Engineering College, Kokrajhar (Re-Advt.) under Higher Education (Tech.) Deptt: 1 Post
• Assistant Engineer (CIVIL) under Irrigation Department: 133 Posts
• Junior Engineer (CIVIL) under Irrigation Department: 125
Educational Qualification
• For Principal
B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech.in Engg./Technology with First Class Degree of B.E./B.Tech.or M.E./M.Tech. level with Ph.D. Degree in Engineering. Highly desirable in post Ph.D.publication and guiding Ph. D. students.
Minimum of 10 (Ten) Years experience in Teaching/Research/Industry out of which at least 03 (Three) Years shall be the level of Professor in Engineering College of Degree Level.
• For Assistant Engineer (CIVIL)
A candidate must pass B. E. Degree in Civil Engineering from any institute recognized by AICTE.
• For Junior Engineer (CIVIL)
A candidate must pass 03 (Three) Years Diploma in Civil Engineering from any institute recognized by AICTE.
Age Limit
• For Principal
Age Limit for the candidate is of 45 to 55 Years as on 01.01.2013 with relaxation applicable to SC/ST categories as per rules in force. No upper age limit for Departmental candidates.
• For Assistant Engineer (CIVIL) & Junior Engineer (CIVIL)
Age Limit for the candidate is of 21 to 38 Years as on 01.01.2013. The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 Years in case of SC/ST/ PWD category candidates and 02 (Two) Years for Ex-Servicemen.
Pay Scale/Salary
• For Principal:
Pay Scale is of Rs. 37,400/-to Rs. 67,000/-plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/-with special pay of Rs.3,000/- Per Month plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.
• For Assistant Engineer (CIVIL)
Pay Scale is of Rs.12,000/-to Rs. 40,000/-(PB–4) with Grade Pay of Rs.5,400/-Per Month plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.
• For Junior Engineer (CIVIL)
Pay Scale is of Rs.5,200/-to Rs.20,200/-(PB–2) with Grade Pay of Rs.3,300/-Per Month plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.
How to Apply
• Application Forms are obtainable from the Issue and Receipt Section of the Assam Public Service Commission, Jawahar Nagar, Khanapara, Guwahati–22 on written requisition addressed to the Deputy Secretary.
• The candidates can download the Application Form from the APSC website www.apsc.nic.in.
• The last date of issue of Application Form and submission of Application Form duly filled up to the Commission’s office is fixed on 18.01.2014.
• Applications which are signed by the candidates and accompanied by all particulars including origional Treasury Challan for Rs.5.00 (Rs.2.50 for SC and ST) as application fee showing name of post and Department and also full Head of Account ‘Non Tax Revenue–Other Non Tax Revenue–0051– PSC, 102–State Public Service Commission Application/Examination Fee Receipt of A. P. S. C.’as called for in the application form supplied by the Commission only shall be considered and candidates fulfilling all the terms of the respective post.
• One recent passport size colour photograph must affix on the space provided in the Application Form.
• Also enclosed all the required documents with the Application Form.
Selection Procedure
The candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in Written Test/Screening Test/Trade Test/Interviews, which might be conducted by the administration.
